Property Tax Department
Property tax is a tax levied on real estate properties by Mahesana Municipal Corporation. Every property owner within the municipal limits is liable to pay this tax annually.

Professional Tax Department
Designated authority means the various authorities appointed to collect business tax in the state.
The state government has appointed the following authorities according to the area:
- District Panchayat – District Panchayat area
- Municipality – Municipality area
- Municipal Corporation – Municipal Corporation area
All registered partnership firms, all factory owners, all shopkeepers (whose average daily employment is five employees during the year), all traders, transport vehicle permit holders as defined in the Value Added Tax Act, money lenders, petrol pump owners, limited companies, all banks, cooperative societies, estate agents, brokers, building contractors, all video parlors, video libraries, members of associations registered under the Forward Contracts Act, members of stock exchanges, and other professionals like legal advisors, solicitors, doctors, insurance agents etc.

You have to register within 60 days of the liability arising under the law.
You will have to pay tax at the rate determined by the relevant designated authority. According to Section-3(2) of the Act, the minimum limit of tax shall not be less than the limit fixed by the Government by notification dated 1-4-08 and the designated authority shall fix the tax rate within the maximum tax limit specified in the schedule. Until the designated authority fixes any such rate, you will have to pay tax at the minimum rate.
The tax should be paid to the designated authority in the manner and place determined by the authority under whose jurisdiction the place of business falls.

Water Department
You can easily register water supply complaints using the MMC Mobile App, available on the Google Play Store. You may also visit your nearest Civic Center or the Mahesana Municipal Corporation office for assistance.
Water supply timings may vary by area and season. Generally, water is supplied once or twice daily, and any changes or updates are communicated through local communication.
MMC conducts regular water testing at various stages—raw water sources, treatment plants, distribution points, and consumer taps. The tests follow the Indian Standard (IS:10500) to ensure clean and safe water for all.

Mahesana Municipal Corporation’s Drainage Department is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the underground drainage lines across all city zones.
Main drainage lines are cleaned as per a regular schedule and more frequently during monsoon season. Emergency cleaning is also undertaken based on complaints or inspections.
