Drainage Department

The Drainage Department provides essential infrastructure to collect, treat, and safely dispose of sewage from domestic and commercial establishments within the city.

Mission

To provide a better quality of life and transform Mahesana into an autonomous and regenerative city by delivering a robust and comprehensive sewerage system.

• More than 380 km of underground sewer lines
• 16 pumping stations
• 2 sewage treatment works
• Wastewater is collected and treated to meet Gujarat Pollution Control Board standards before safe disposal.

Key Functions

• Planning, designing, estimating, tendering, and executing sewerage systems.
• Maintaining the sewer network, pumping stations, treatment plants, and disposal works.
• All maintenance operations are handled by private agencies.
• Main constituents of the system include:
  • Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs)
  • Sewage Pumping Stations
  • Drainage Gravity and Rising Pressure Lines

• Kasba (Shobhasan Road) STP: 18.46 MLD capacity
• Nagalpur (Near Lake) STP: 23.18 MLD capacity
